Imagine a product that could reduce jet engine noise by 90 per cent, enable offshore fog alarms to operate for a decade off a single set of batteries, enable those suffering from incontinence to live a normal life, allow deep-sea oil wells to be accessed and emergency vehicles to hit speed bumps without slowing down.

These are just some of the early applications for the Camcon® Binary Actuator, a new class of bi-stable valves and actuators. Camcon owns worldwide patents on this groundbreaking new technology and is focussed on developing new designs to address emerging applications areas.

The Camcon® Binary Actuator is an elegant, smooth-operating valve design that recycles energy using a combination of magnets and springs. It only requires energy to change state and will work for years off a small power source, typically a battery, at very high speeds.

Tech duo reunited in Camcon digital valve investment

Lord Young of Graffham has invested in Cambridge-based Camcon Technology, the UK developer of the digital valve. The move will see the former Trade & Industry Minister join forces once again with tech veteran Danny Chapchal.
